Configuration of Port Mirroring on WRVS4400N Wireless-N Gigabit Security Router

Port mirroring is a method to monitor network traffic that forwards a copy of each incoming and outgoing packet from one port of a network to another port where the packet can be studied. It is used as a diagnostic tool to prevent attacks to the network. 

The objective of this document is to explain how to configure Port Mirroring on WRVS4000N Wireless-N Gigabit Security Router.

Port Mirroring Configuration

Step 1. Log in to the web configuration utility and choose L2 Switch > Port Mirroring. The Mirror page opens:

Step 2. Check the port check box of the ports that you would like to mirror.

Step 3. Choose the port to which you would like to mirror the source port(s) chosen in Step 2 from the Mirror Port drop-down list.

Step 4. Click Save to save the Port Mirroring settings.
